Speaking before Celtic v Rangers Scottish Cup Final 2024, Johan Mjallby states the following about recent Matt O'Riley transfer rumours:

"Yeah, obviously, I mean as a nowadays Celtic supporter, I'd rather see Matt O'Riley stay because he's been so good. But yes, I understand. I think it's just natural, you know. Regardless if you play for Celtic or Rangers, if you do really well, play well, there's always going to be interest from elsewhere, not only down south but from European clubs as well.

But you know, I prefer if Matt O'Riley stay at Celtic so they can obviously improve even more. But I understand, obviously, if they decide to sell him. Yes, I expect a very good chunk of money for Celtic."
