Video Script:
This is the first of four videos for the case study of London. The other three parts are linked in the description.

London is the capital and most populous city in the UK, with Greater London having a population of just under 9 million in 2018. Its population declined after World War 2 but it is currently growing. Its mild climate and flat land make it a great place for a city while its location on the River Thames gives it access to the North Sea and English Channel for maritime trade.

It has good transport links both nationally and internationally - the UK road and rail networks are centred on London and the Eurostar provides rail links to mainland Europe. Heathrow and Gatwick are the busiest airports in the UK, with Heathrow also being the second busiest internationally in 2022.

London is the wealthiest city in the UK, accounting for 22% of the GDP and is one of the most important financial centres in the world, home to many international companies. It is also a very popular tourist destination - regularly ranking in the top 3 most visited cities in the world. London is the most ethnically diverse city in the UK, making it a multicultural city and it also has a very young population meaning natural increase is high.
