The Royal Canada Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) provide an update on the investigation into the June 2023 killing of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia. Speaking with reporters are Superintendent Mandeep Mooker (officer in charge of IHIT) and RCMP assistant commissioners David Teboul and Brian Edwards.
They confirm that the RCMP has arrested and charged three Indian nationals for first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Nijjar’s death raised tensions between Canada and India after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced security agencies were investigating a potential link between India’s government and the killing.
