Now, after the connecting rod was brought back into the shop, we remachined the bore to true up the big end using our in-house line boring equipment. We also finished machining the bronze bearing insert, including cutting grease grooves, to suit the dimensions. Then the bronze bearing insert was split apart and fastened to the cap and rod using flat head brass screws.
