Steps to preserve these flowers:
NOTE - I am trying these flowers for the first time. I have preserved roses and other flowers before, which turned out great!
Step 1. Pluck some fresh flowers from the garden and gently place them on a tray or a dish without altering their shape.
Step 2. In a microwave safe box (for reheating silica later whenever required), add some silica granules or gel, whatever you are using.
Add it upto half an inch or an inch (depends on the size of the flowers you are using)
Step 3. Add your flowers to this box by gently placing them, slightly apart from each other.
Step 4. You can preserve them upside down also but I preserve them the petals side up to maintain their shape.
Step 5. Fill up the box with granules so that your flowers are completely covered with the silica.
Step 6. Keep checking the flowers every day, for smaller flowers - they dry in a day or two, depending upon the moisture content.
How to check if it’s right?
They should not be crispy such that they break, they should not be watery or should not have any moisture content. They should be soft to touch but they should not change their shape upon touching (gently).
