Rescue workers reunited a sea otter pup with her mother on Thursday, May 26, in Morro Bay, California. The Marine Mammal Center says it is rare to be able to successfully reunite a mother and her pup as they were able to do.
The Marine Mammal Center and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife received calls of a female pup, less than two days old, that had drifted away from her mother because of a strong incoming tide. The two groups retrieved the pup from near a pier, guided by the directions given by concerned individuals. Heather Harris, a veterinarian with the center, who shot this video, was included in the group.
