The family of Lt. Rodney Osborne has hired an attorney.
Mark Kitrick said Osborne's death should have never happened, and he plans to "aggressively" try to get answers from the state about how an incident like that could have happened.
Osborne was a 13-year employee of the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility. According to state officials, on April 9, Osborne was shot and killed during a "demonstration portion" of training at the facility's gun range.
