The Ukrainian infantryman, call sign "Ray", recalled scrambling for his gas mask after a Russian drone dropped a tear gas grenade into his trench on the eastern front.
His country's military has said #Russia is ramping up its illegal use of riot-control agents in an effort to clear trenches and stage a major advance in the east.
Ukrainian army leaders have also alleged that it is not just tear gas being used by Russia but other, more serious chemical weapons.
Riot-control agents are banned on the battlefield by the international Chemical Weapons Convention, which Russia and #Ukraine are signatories to.
But the Ukrainian military has record around 900 uses of these agents on the battlefield in the past six months, a number they say is only increasing.
