Here's approximately seven and a half minutes from an (altogether) twelve-minute recording of the 85-minute Pavarotti special, which had been available in its entirety (and at its original frame rate) at the time in which I uploaded this; the special has since been removed from the YouTube cabinet. In these minutes, the late Meat Loaf, who died this past Friday, performs "Heaven Can Wait" solo and then renders "Come Back to Sorrento" in a duet with our host, the late opera titan Luciano Pavarotti.
This was taped on July 30, 1996 from WLIW-TV21 in Garden City, New York, one of New York City's three PBS member stations of the era (by that time, NYC had been out a fourth, as WNYC-TV31 was acquired by Dow Jones/ITT and became a commercial independent named WBIS, then was taken over by Paxson Communications and became WPXN, an O&O of PAX TV and, later, of Ion Television; WNYE-TV25 became the second NYC station to leave PBS in 2004).
