More negative news out of the Crypto world with the Securities and Exchange Commission in the US today suing crypto trading groups Gemini and Genesis. The charges have specifically been filed for Gemini’s earn program that allowed crypto traders to earn interest on their deposited tokens. The SEC claims that the Earn scheme offered by Gemini was not properly registered as securities. This all came to a head after the FTX crisis when Genesis disabled customer withdrawals citing insufficient liquidity as a result of the crypto market crash. Since then investors have not been able to withdraw their funds. Hopefully, this action sorts out the situation for the investors who can't access their funds.
