This intro to math structures is an intro to basic mathematical proof writing. And it at least tries to answer the question "what are proofs?", in a introductory way. Proofs are something you can write without knowledge of Calculus, so I will do my best to avoid it. We'll come to answer "what is proof" by talking through valid and sound arguments, then going through a direct proof example with the proof of the product of two odd integers is odd, and then end with an indirect proof example with a proof by way of contradiction that the square root of 2 is irrational.
