Too often children are taught "to do" maths rather than actually understand it. if everyone is capable of understanding maths, why do so many consider themselves to be poor at the subject? This workshop explores the importance of contextualised learning, learning through investigation, making connections between mathematical relationships and developing mathematical reasoning in order that learners are equipped with essential skills for life and a deep conceptual understanding.
