The "Go Ask Alice" Human Powered Kinetic Sculpture enters the water, with in-character outriders/Pit Crew on the pier. The sometimes strong wind from the First Mariner tower gave them a break, and they had no visible problems on the water. Unfortunately, my camera battery died as they were on the way back in along the east side of the pier. Drat. "Spectators Guide" says: "Go Ask Alice" - "the gargantuan hookah-smoking vibrant blue caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland with 6 people inside—returns from Millersville after winning People's Choice in 2010 and 2011."

This race (more of an endurance and creative repair event than an actual speed race) does it's best to help Keep Baltimore Weird. It's put on annually by the good folk at the American Visionary Arts Museum (AVAM) on Key Highway. See the website above for more details. Taken with a GoProHD. This race is an offshoot of the Humboldt County, California original, started by Hobart Brown in 1969.
