A day before the UN reviews Iran's human rights record, UN Watch organized a UN panel of Iranian victims. Marina Nemat was jailed as a political prisoner in Tehran when she was only 16 years old. She was interrogated, tortured, faced execution, and was raped by a prison guard who she was coerced to marry. Ms. Nemat was the recipient of the European Parliament’s inaugural Human Dignity Prize in 2007, and in 2014 was awarded UN Watch's Morris B. Abram Human Rights Award.
