There are a lot of great opportunities at the moment for residential drafters within construction jobs. A typical working day may involve a variety of different tasks.
On the job you will often be:
- liaising with individual clients or sales consultants
- analysing architects' or other designs to prepare preliminary sketches and detailed instructions - using your knowledge and understanding of building codes and council regulations to design homes
- managing and updating design catalogues for brochures and marketing materials
interpreting client briefs
- preparing and developing sketch plans for client approval
- helping to prepare building specifications for building plans for individual clients
