FLASHBACK al pasado para ver la gran carrera universitaria de Diego Guevara con UNC Charlotte, donde fue un estelar base armador durante sus cuatro años catapultando al programa a tres apariciones en el March Madness y una clasificación al torneo NIT en su palmarés.
El barquisimetano es uno de los jugadores más recordados del programa, al tener su número 21 retirado en los rafters. Guevara fue considerado un recluta top-50 en su posición en todo Estados Unidos después de un accidentado paso por high school, que le hizo volver e irse de Venezuela, para tener un año freshman para el recuerdo en Carolina del Norte. En el Torneo NCAA de 1997-98 y viniendo ese año desde el banco, frente a la mítica North Carolina de Antwan Jamison forzó el overtime en este juego que vemos en primeras imágenes de las East Regionals, a pesar que caerían en el suplementario y serían eliminados. Como novato tuvo promedios de 5.7 Pts por juego y 1.5 Ast.
Para su año sophomore, el larense amarraría la titularidad y se consagraría como segundo mejor anotador de su equipo con 12.5 Pts, además de ser uno de los mejores lanzadores de la conferencia C-USA. Como sénior, Guevara se establecía como el segundo mejor triplero en la historia de toda la universidad y además 19no en la lista de máximos anotadores para el momento. Las segundas imágenes del video son de su último año en el March Madness del 2001, ante Tennessee. Con la selección venezolana, luego de ser estandarte de la primera selección criolla que se clasificó a un mundial juvenil FIBA, pasaría a tener una importante carrera con la de mayores y profesionalmente, leyenda de la LPB venezolana.

The native of Barquisimeto is one of the most prolific players of the program, having his number 21 retired in the rafters. Guevara was considered a top-50 recruit at his position across the United States after a bumpy high school stint, which brought him back and forth from Venezuela, to have a freshman year to remember in North Carolina. In the 1997-98 NCAA Tournament and coming that year from the bench, against the mythical North Carolina of Antwan Jamison and co. he forced overtime in this game that we see in the first images of the East Regionals, although they would fall in OT and would be eliminated. As a rookie he averaged 5.7 Points per game and 1.5 APG.
For his sophomore year, the Larense would jump to the starting lineup and become the second best scorer of his team with 12.5 PPG, in addition to being one of the best shooters in the C-USA conference. As a senior, Guevara established himself as the second best three point marksman in 49ers history, and also 19th best on the list of top scorers. The images shown on the latter game are from his senior year's March Madness appearance vs Tennessee. With the Venezuelan team, after being the star of the first team ever that qualified for a FIBA youth world championship, he would go on to have an important career with the senior national team and professionally, a legend of the Venezuelan LPB for many teams.
