From Hollywood to Bollywood: How Film & TV Reach Global Audiences on Key Health Topics
Sandra de Castro Buffington, Director of the Lear Center's Hollywood, Health & Society program, brought together some of Hollywood and India's hottest creative talent to speak about health in entertainment storylines, and how entertainment media can teach viewers while entertaining them. The event featured remarks by director and producer Ramesh Sippy and a keynote by de Castro Buffington. The following panel discussion included Dr. Zoanne Clack (Co-executive Producer, Grey's Anatomy), Amole Gupte (Writer/Director/Producer, Stanley Ka Dabba), Jennifer Cecil (Co-Executive Producer, Private Practice), Vinta Nanda (Joint COO Creativeland Pictures), Michael Nash (Writer/Director/Executive Producer, Climate Refugees), Onir (Writer/Director/Producer I Am, My Brother...Nikhil), Karen Tenkhoff (Development Partner, Walt Disney Feature Animation) and John Max Burnett III (Executive Producer/Co-Creator, The Troop).
