1998 Porsche 911 996 vs Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster and a lighthearted review and drive from the opposite sides of the camp... No matter what people may say, I love my Porsche 996. For me it is the definitive sports car and I judge everything else up against it. In this case, the subject is a stunning car design, 2007 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster. It has to be said that this is not a head to head Aston Martin vs Porsche comparison, if it were so, we would have to use a first generation Porsche 997. However, the 996 offers more of a raw and visceral sports car experience than the 997 and as the car is mine, I know it extensively inside out. This is more of a “what an Aston Martin driver thinks about a Porsche and what a Porsche driver thinks about an Aston Martin” type of comparison, by which we hope to highlight some peculiarities of both cars.
