Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was home during a robbery early Sunday morning, according to investigators.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called out to the Getty House, the official mayoral residence, in Windsor Square around 6:45 a.m., after reports of a burglary in progress.
In a statement to FOX 11, Mayor Bass' communication team said that the intruder broke in through a glass door, likely cut their hand.
"I am fine, my family is fine," Mayor Bass said during an address on her annual budget.
Officials identified the suspect as 29-year-old Ephraim Matthew Hunter. Hunter was previously charged with kidnapping and attempted murder in Massachusetts, court records show.
LiveNOW's Andy Mac spoke discussed the break-in with FOX News correspondent Jonathan Hunt.
