The Academic Bank of Credit referred to as ABC in short, is a virtual mechanism that will deal with the credits earned by students of Higher Education Institutes in India and which are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The "Academic Bank of Credits" has been launched by UGC as part of a chain of developments aimed at transforming educational infrastructure (ABC). One of the statutory agencies, the University Grants Commission (UGC), is crucial to preserving the standard of instruction in all Indian educational institutions.

It is a credit facility originally envisioned by the Government of India in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The scheme has the provisions of creating a digital infrastructure that will store the academic credits earned by the students of various higher education institutes within the country.
