Chris Boardman, Anna Holligan, Clare Balding and Chris Hoy talk cycling in cities during Glasgow 2023 Cycling World Championships coverage.
Chris: "when I ask (children in schools) how many would like to (ride to school), all the hands go up"
Anna: "you can encourage people to cycle but you have to give them a way that is safe", "only when they make roads safe and have protected lanes that parents will be prepared to put their kids on (them)"
Chris: "75% of journeys in this region (Glasgow) are less than 3 miles"
Anna: "cycling is such a win for drivers if you imagine how much easier driving would be if take a few cars out because people are cycling"
Anna: "I didn't come to cycling because I was a pro or wanted to win medals, I just wanted a convenient way to get around and be a parent and do my job, I find it so empowering"
Chris: "forget the health benefits, forget the decarbonisation, it just makes a nicer place to live"
