Its also one of the biggest jazz event of the entire continent Europe. The Open Air event will organize from the community Nuremberg and from the opera house "Staatstheater Nuremberg". Generally the open air concert would organize all two years, but last year, the community make a break because the situation of Covid-19. Every time, the Jazz Open Air will follow one day after the "Classic Open Air", more and over the sister open air event. The number of guests are every concert between 50 000 and 57 000. It's also a question of the weather how much people are coming. In particular to the location is where the open air event are takes place is interesting. The event takes place at a park called "Luitpoldhein", located not far away of the famous documentary center and the zeppelin grandstand, always part of the Nazi Party Rally Grounds from the world war second. Today the "Luitpoldhein" is a nice park and compleated with a concert hall, called "Meistersingerhalle" named by the famous opera of the composer Richard Wagner. The Open Air event included with all is a experience for everybody.
I took part of the famous Jazz Open Air at the town where I grew up. However there were a lot of people there for listening the music and for watching the musicians. I meet some of my work partners at this concert. We spent some time on the maddow. Than I had the opportunity to find a place shortly behind the stage and it was not easy to make the clips for a good video. This year the musicians were the legendary Nils Landgreen, Max Mutzge, Thomas Quasthof, Cassandra Steen, Ivan Linz, Nightmares on Wax and Mezzoforte. All was guided by Wolfgang Haffner a popular musician from the jazz scene. To my surprise the time for the end of the festival was 11.pm but the show was finished at 11.30.pm. Well a half hour longer.
