Previously, I developed an orbital drop supply pod that was entirely battery powered and could attempt to land near a GPS marker. This is extremely useful for orbital resupply of ground bases without the need to waste hydrogen to fly in a massive freighter.
However, in order to stop these pods after they touched the ground, I was previously utilizing several pairs of landing gear sticking out of the pod like a porcupine. However, thanks to the power of sensor blocks, I was able to make the drop pod power down flight systems once coming close enough to the ground.
In this clip I demonstrated the ability of two of these drop pods, deployed in the same manner as the previous video, to land extremely close to a drop LZ.
