The FDA has authorized an e-cigarette for the first time. The company R.J. Reynolds has permission to sell three of its vape products that are all tobacco flavored.

The FDA said these products are less likely to appeal to kids and teens. The agency also says the authorization doesn't mean the products are safe, but that they could benefit addicted adult smokers who switch over and could either completely or significantly cut down their smoking habit.
