Today, we are fixing a dead Ring doorbell, it would not take a charge and showed no sign of life.
It was installed outdoors in a high moisture setting with occasional rain exposure.
After taking the Ring apart I noticed some issues on the battery connection terminals. I cleaned the terminals, and the Ring was operational again. To prevent future problems and avoid corrosion, I coated most of the motherboard and mainly battery connectors with Liquid electrical tape, (Link below). I was able to find a spare battery on eBay for around $10, but so far no need to use it, old battery is just fine after some TLC. At one point I was holding mounting plate instead of back cover, my apologies! I am planning on making a little protective housing for the Ring for less of $5, and will be on in a future video. Thanks. G
Thanks for watching!
