Arctic Edge 23 will see the 5th Battalion, 11th Marines practice using HIMARS, COLD BAY, AK, UNITED STATES
On May 8–9, 2023, Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, California, and Cold Bay, Alaska, host Exercise Arctic Edge 23 for U.S. Marines from the 5th Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, and Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234, Marine Aircraft Group 41. Arctic Edge helped the battalion standardize preparatory processes and improve their effectiveness in HIMARS quick infiltration missions. ARCTIC EDGE 2023 (AE23) is a homeland defense exercise run by the US Northern Command that aims to show off the US military's capabilities in extremely cold weather, joint force preparedness, and commitment to shared national security interests in the Arctic.
