In years of abundant harvest, the Ussuri boar becomes a direct competitor with the brown bear for fallen nuts. In most cases, the bear hunts for piglets. However, S.P. Kucherenko notes that the bear can even handle a large male boar, but often suffers itself, sometimes even perishing in fights with it.
