(22 Dec 2015) Thousands of protestors took to the streets on Tuesday against the curfew in Sur neighbourhood in Diyarbakir - the heart of mainly Kurdish populated region in Turkey.
Police deployed water cannons and fired tear gas in an attempt to disperse the protestors.
Turkish military operations in the southeast have killed 115 Kurdish rebels since December 15, a state-run news agency reported Monday.
According to the report most of the casualties were centered in the southeastern towns of Cizre and Silopi, both under 24-hour curfew, with 98 rebels killed.
Other casualties occurred in the provinces of Mardin and Diyarbakir.
