Got to make a correction here; I visited this place, "The Towers of Silence", on my way to the train station, while leaving the area of Yadz, the taxi driver was waiting for me below outside the place, and yes, as I admitted to some of the commentators; I know, even today, not much of this place, or even the Zoroastrians, and assumed, the practice of disposing of their dead, was similar to the rite of the Nepalese, or Tibetan; where they cut the bodies of their dead in pieces and have the vultures eat them. Well, there it is, what I said in the video it's just what I assumed it happened, but was in error.
One thing I heard was that when the islamic revolution hit Iran, back in 1979, that brought in the end of the funerary practice of the Zoroastrians.
In the Zoroastrian tradition, once someone has died, their body can immediately be contaminated by demons and made impure. To prevent this infiltration, Zoroastrians purified the dead body by exposing it to the elements and local fowl on top of flat-topped towers called dakhmas in the desert.
