MIDI Hacks: Quickly Sketching Ideas in a MIDI Track (Rapid-Fire Reaper Tutorials Ep35)
In this and the next few episodes, I'm gonna focus on MIDI recording and editing in Reaper. I know lots of people don't love Reaper's MIDI capabilities, and may prefer Ableton or Logic, but firstly Reaper is a good chunk of change cheaper than both, but also, I think a majority of what you like about those DAWs can be replicated in Reaper with a bit of tweaking.
In this video, we're gonna tackle the issue of quickly setting up a MIDI track for recording, so that we don't have to go through a bunch of steps just to sketch out a basic idea with our MIDI keyboards.
