A new year, a new project. This is quite a long time I am doing model kit and wanted to start sharing with you my passion. On this video, you will see C18 vs. Vegeta 57cm from e2046. This was the first time I worked on a big scale garage kit and there was a lot of work.
I will guide you step by step to understand how to work on a garage kit, give you some tips and present you what is the end result. Enjoy
For those who wants to know more:
Video: I started to shot with a Nikon D5300 but there is no autofocus so not the best. So I decided to change and go with a Sony ZV-E10 4k - the upgrade was just amazing. I am also using a gimbal MOZA Mini-P at the end of the video for the final shooting. I use the sony camera for all the voice over
Video editing: I go with Adobe Premiere Pro - It is an insane software and let you do everything you want. I am not an expert but I found all the tutorials I needed online and I can say I have a descent video.
Tools and accessories: so many tools to use not sure I will be able to list everything. But I’ll try
Drilling machines: Electric drill machine Bosh, Drimmel David Union 550E
Sanding machines: MrHobby Gtool Cordless Polisher Pro, MrHobby Gtool Cordless Polisher Pro II, Proxxon No 28594-M
Craft tools: bunch of them, too many to give everything - haha - the main I use are Sharp Pointed Side Cutter, Straight Tweezers, Angled Tweezers… You can find all their tools here [ Ссылка ]
Sanding papers: again I use tamiya - 180, 320, 400 and 600. For the Gtools, I am using MrHobby it is a bit expensive but it worth it - you can also do you own - 220, 400, 600.
Masking: tamiya again. It depends the garage kit again, but for this one I use the yellow tape 8mm, Mr hobby masking sol neo and Mrhobby masking sol R.
Masking plate: DSPIAE - find on allyexpress - Type A/B/C/D
Putty: polyester putty, epoxy putty, white putty to correct the small imperfection, light-curing putty - all from Tamiya
Paintings: for the painting, I go mostly with Tamiya, as I say in the video, I really like their brand. But there are sometimes I don’t find what I want so I go with other brands like SMS, Mr Hobby or Vallejo or Modos. Often is for the gloss, shiny and color change painting. Tamiya doesn’t offer the best for that. They are good for the basic.
Pastels and others: Faber castel soft pastel. I also use water color pencils Karat aquarell but not for this project.
Hope this list will help you more if you want to discover and try. And don’t hesitate to ask me all the questions you want. I’ll be happy to answer or redirect you somewhere you can find it.
