This cherry jam tart is absolutely delicious.The cinnamon flavoured crumbly pastry base combined with the hand-made cherry jam gives you the absolute delicious dessert. You can taste it with your morning coffee or after your lunch. Of course you can use any kind of jam you prefer,hand-made or not.Enjoy it!
INGREDIENTS
Cherry jam
-1 kg cherries without the pit
-260 gr white sugar
-140 gr brown sugar
- 1,5 gr ground vanillin or vanilla extract
Boil in a medium heat for 20-30 minutes.
Set aside to cool before the use.
Dough
-140 gr butter
-80 gr olive oil
-60 gr icing sugar
-1 egg
-1 tsp baking powder
-2 tsp cinnamon
-60 gr oats
-1/2 tsp salt
- 100 gr wholemeal flour
- 190 gr all purpose flour.( add it gradually)
-220 gr cherry jam
Bake for 45-50 min at 160-170 degrees or until it becomes golden brown.
Tips
-Add the all purpose flour gradually in the mixture.-Put the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Use 2/3 of the dough for the base.
-The 1/3 use it for creating patterns on the top.
