In 1805, two Russian ships named Juno and Avos embarked on an expedition to North America. This voyage marks the beginning of a tragic and true love story involving the Russian explorer Count Nikolai Rezanov and Conchita Arguello, the daughter of the Commandant of San Francisco. Despite the obstacles of religious differences, Nikolai and Conchita fall deeply in love and become secretly engaged. However, their happiness is short-lived as Nikolai is compelled to return to Russia to seek the blessing to marry Conchita, due to their different religious backgrounds.
