In today's video, I'm sharing a delightful and traditional Bengali dessert—Chhana'r Payesh. This creamy, rich dessert is perfect for Raksha Bandhan or any festive occasion. Chhana'r Payesh is made by curdling milk to create fresh cottage cheese (chhana) and then cooking it gently in more milk, resulting in a smooth, luscious texture that's simply irresistible.
What makes Chhana'r Payesh so special is its simplicity. With just a handful of ingredients—milk, sugar, milk powder, and nuts—you can whip up this dessert in just 40 minutes from start to finish. It's one of the easiest one of the many payesh variations we Bengalis love to make. To elevate the flavour, I add a few drops of rose water, which gives the payesh a subtle, aromatic touch that’s absolutely mind-blowing.
Once chilled in the fridge, Chhana'r Payesh becomes a crowd-pleasing dish, perfect for summer get-togethers, potlucks, or pujo when you need a quick yet impressive dessert. Whether you're a seasoned cook or a beginner, this recipe is a must-try, and it's sure to become a favourite in your household.
