Is playing with your PDA (or “controlling”) child triggering for you? 🧐
These are the types of conversations that happen behind closed doors when working intimately with families and when no one is worried about the harsh judgment of the public eye on social media.
When we are just relaxing together into the messiness of being human.
In order to make profound shifts in our home and within ourselves, we have to be willing to name our most honest truths without sugar-coating, but also without judgment or attachment, so we can release what we are avoiding.
Working to make a paradigm shift in your home brings up triggers, childhood trauma, and makes you reflect on your life through a different lens. It forces you to relax into uncertainty and not being in control (in the way you perceived you were).
It makes you stare at yourself in the mirror and wonder about your own identity, which may suddenly feel tenuous or blurry as you navigate parenting a child with a nervous system disability and all the changes that brings.
Needing to find a new school district and moving.
Leaving a career.
Re-evaluating your romantic relationship.
Re-evaluating finances. Financial loss.
Setting boundaries and dropping the people-pleasing for the first time.
Speaking your truth to “authorities” like medical doctors or school administrators.
It is all OK.
My work is to help YOU find your *unique* path, while setting gentle guideposts along the way. It is parent-centered for a reason.
