This is the second episode of a 6-Series virtual tasting event featuring wines, winemakers, grape growers, and Chefs from the Alexander Valley AVA (American Viticulture Area) in the NE corner of Sonoma County, CA.
Each episode is based on a single varietal and features two winemakers, one viticulturists, one internationally known chef, and one guest moderator. Each episode is approximately 50-60 minuets in length.
The Chef in each episode discusses food pairings for the featured wines. Some of the chef's have provided exclusive recipes which you can download from our website, [ Ссылка ].
Viewers can watch these videos as if they were happening in real time. You can still order the wines to taste along, and many of our viewers have invited friends and family over to help prepare the dishes suggested by the chef's. This is a wonderful way to share community and learn about Alexander Valley wines.
Episode 2 features Alexander Valley Rosé. In this particular episode, you'll meet Winemakers Laura Carpenter Hawkes (Carpenter Wine) and Ames Morison (Medlock Ames Winery), Viticulturist Jake Hawkes, who grows the grapes for Carpenter, Chef Douglas Keane (CYRUS, Alexander Valley), and Guest Moderator Allison Levine (owner of 'Please the Palate' a boutique marketing agency for the wine and spirits industry.)
Note: Chef Douglas Keane offers exclusive recipes for these Rosé on our website.

Did you know that Rosé was actually made from red grapes? The varietal used in the making of the Carpenter Rosé is Zinfandel, and the varietal used in the making of the Medlock Ames Rosé is primarily Merlot, with a dash of Cabernet Sauvignon tossed in to enhance the palate weight and add a floral dimension. What gives Rosé then its various hues of blush color? It all depends on how long the grape skins are left on the fruit. The longer the skins are left, the richer the color. Compare this to the actual color of a Merlot or Zinfandel, and you'll realize the skins on a wine destined for Rosé, are left for a very short time.
