Voice of America’s Persian Service talked to Dr. Reza Parchizadeh about the snap presidential election in Iran. Parchizadeh said the elections in the Islamic Republic are a tightly controlled process, with the level of control fluctuating based on the expediency of the system and its leader. Unlike last time, this time Khamenei chose to intensify the “Reformist/Principalist” dynamic.
He emphasized the numbers announced by the Islamic Republic in elections and many other fields are unreliable and lack objective validity, making analysis based on them impossible. It is certain, however, that the regime needed these elections to appear popular, and so far it has failed in that goal.
He added that the physical attacks by regime agents on opponents during the election boycott demonstrate the desperation of the Islamic Republic. Over the last few years, popular resistance against the regime has multiplied. The regime attempts to quell popular resistance through increased violence, but these efforts only bolster the people’s defiance.
According to Parchizadeh, the Islamic Republic is an ideologically-driven regime, not founded on liberal and rational principles. When faced with public opposition, it responds with anger and aggression rather than dialogue. This reaction underscores the growing strength of popular resistance.
Parchizadeh concluded that the Supreme Leader used this election as a referendum on the regime’s legitimacy, and results announced will naturally reflect this. However, the regime’s legitimacy is irrevocably damaged, and moving forward its standing will keep deteriorating until it ultimately collapses.
انتخابات ریاست جمهوری در حوزه جمهوری اسلامی یک فرایند به شدت کنترل‌شده است، ولی این کنترل همیشه به یک شکل و یک اندازه نیست، و بر اساس مصلحت نظام یا مصلحت رهبر نظام به اصطلاح شُل و سفت می‌شود. این بار برخلاف مرتبه قبل خامنه‌ای تصمیم گرفته بازی «اصلاح‌طلب/اصول‌گرا» را داغ کند.
اعدادی که جمهوری اسلامی در حوزه انتخابات و بسیاری زمینه‌های دیگر اعلام می‌کند قابل اعتماد نیست و اعتبار آبجکتیو ندارد، پس نمی‌شود بر اساس آنها تحلیلگری کرد. چیزی که مسلم است این است که رژیم نیاز داشت این انتخابات را پُرشور نشان بدهد، که تا اینجای کار در این هدفش شکست خورده است.
حملات فیزیکی که عوامل رژیم به مخالفان رژیم در جریان تحریم انتخابات فرمایشی می‌کنند دلیلش استیصال جمهوری اسلامی است. طی چند سال اخیر مقاومت مردمی در برابر رژیم چندین برابر شده است، و رژیم تلاش می‌کند با افزایش خشونت مردم را عقب براند، اما نمی‌تواند و مقاومت مردمی افزایش می‌یابد.
جمهوری اسلامی یک حکومت ایدئولوژیک ناموسی است، و بر اساس معیارهای لیبرال و منطقی شکل نگرفته است. چنین رژیمی وقتی مخالفت عموم مردم را با خودش می‌بیند، به جای پاسخگویی خشمگین می‌شود و به مردم حمله می‌کند. این خشم رژیم نشانگر افزایش شدید مقاومت مردم علیه آن است و بیشتر هم می‌شود.
خامنه‌ای از این انتخابات به عنوان رفراندومی برای مشروعیت رژیم استفاده کرد. طبیعتا نتیجه‌ای هم که روز جمعه اعلام می‌کنند در همین راستا خواهد بود. ولی مشروعیت رژیم برای همیشه شکسته است، و آب رفته به جوی بازنمی‌گردد، و هرچه جلوتر می‌رویم وضعیت مشروعیت رژیم بدتر می‌شود تا سقوط کند.
