Today were replacing a steering rack in a 2006 Acura TSX. This rack was leaking everywhere....and I mean everywhere! Isn't too bad of an install.
First you make sure theres no fluid in the system. You can suck it out from the reservoir from a pump or put a bucket underneath the car when you take out the lines. From up top you can remove the hardware that bolts the steering rack to the vehicle sub frame.
Next raise the car up and remove the front tires. From there disconnect the outer tie rods from the knuckle and start unbolting the subframe from the body of the car. Underneath the car remove the power steering rack shield and loosen up the transmission shifter cable.
Now lower the rack until you have enough room to sneak out the car. Quick tip is to flip the rack around until it sneaks out. Swap over your components and then reinstall the steering rack.
