We learn to weld overhead with a 6010 electrode. Smaw means shield metal arc welding also called stick welding , I’m using a 6010 electrode and using a Miller welding machine. This welding position is 4G overhead. It’s a whipping and pause technique for this position. these are the basics and for beginner welders simple tricks and tips you can use. I’m showing two different welds from different angels and different views from inside the helmet . Keep on burning rods and practicing your welding.
