(30 May 2015) Russian police detained gay rights activists for holding an unauthorised gay pride parade in Moscow on Saturday.
The activists gathered at a central city square in front of Moscow's town hall and lit a red flare.
They were immediately detained by police.
Several Russian nationalists, who tried to stop the activists from holding their event, were also detained.
The nationalists used pepper spray to disperse the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) activists.
