The Siepser sliding knot technique for repairing iris lacerations is just one of many surgical techniques that can be practiced on the SimulEYE Iris Suturing and IOL Fixation (ISIF) model. After entering through a paracentesis and then out through the cornea, the suture is retrieved with a hook through the paracentesis. The free and tethered ends are identified to create the sliding knot which is then slid into and cinched down inside the eye. Multiple throws are performed before trimming the suture ends with intracameral microscissors.
