In this video I explain why I recommend langstroth style beehives to beginners. I also compare the Langstroth to the top bar hive, or horizontal hive, because that's the hive style I started out with my first two years (and regretted it almost immediately). There are times when I do recommend a top bar or long langstroth style hive and I explain this as well.
