A thermobaric weapon, also known as an aerosol bomb, a vacuum bomb, or a fuel air explosive, is a type of explosive that generates a high-temperature explosion by using oxygen from the surrounding air. This weapon draws oxygen from the environment to produce a high-temperature explosion. Thermobaric weapons are nearly entirely made of fuel, making them substantially more energetic and lasting longer than conventional explosives of comparable weight. These bombs have been used for a number of objectives and come in a variety of sizes, including hand-held rocket launchers and grenades can also be launched from airplanes.
