This alarm could well have been the basis for the classic alarm sounds heard in Half Life (once it's slowed down and doctored with reverb). Given that some sound in early games like Duke Nukem 3D were ripped directly from films (The T-Rex sounds from Jurassic Park were used on the bosses) I would'nt be surprised if the Half Life alarm sound was ripped in the same manner.
