"As a matter of fact we want to convey to the world the message showing that we are persecuted people, we are people who've suffered a lot by the Israeli occupation. If some pictures exhibited here depict the military operations carried out by the Palestinian resistance - this is to show the world we are persecuted people. Because of Zionist practices carried out day and night by the occupying forces, the popular resistance has emerged."

STORYLINE:
Palestinian university students opened an exhibition on Monday to commemorate the year-old uprising against Israel.
But some of the displays are deliberately gruesome and likely to cause controversy.
The entrance for the exhibition is made to look like a Sbarro Pizza restaurant.
This was the location of a suicide bombing in Jerusalem earlier this year which claimed the life of the bomber and 15 others.
It was one of the deadliest attacks in a year of Middle East violence and drew widespread international condemnation.
Also at the entrance lie Israeli and U.S. flags - to be used as doormats by those entering.
Inside, part of the exhibition is a mock up of the pizza restaurant after the attack.
There are half eaten pizza slices and body parts scattered around.
The exhibit at Al-Najah University in Nablus was put on by students who support the militant Islamic movement Hamas, which carried out the Jerusalem attack.
Support for Hamas traditionally runs high at the university.
The school is a hotbed for Palestinian militants and has produced a number of suicide bombers.
Thousands of people, most of them university students, visited the exhibition, which is to run for a week in the university cafeteria.
Visitors looked through dark windows to see mannequins dressed as suicide bombers.
Each had Islam's holy book, the Qu'ran, in one hand, and an automatic rifle in the other - real suicide bombers often assume this pose in videos they make before staging attacks.
One of the organisers for the exhibition, Allah Ahmed Hmeidan, said they wanted to show the world that Palestinians are persecuted by "Zionist" "occupying forces".
Twenty-one Palestinians have blown themselves up in suicide attacks in the past year, killing more than 50 people and wounding hundreds.
Hamas, along with Islamic Jihad, have carried out the bombings.
In another part of the exhibition a room pays tribute to three Hamas leaders killed in targeted attacks by Israeli troops.
