You will need:
Urad dal: 1 cup
Idli rava: 2 cups
Salt (as required)
Preparation:
In a vessel, add urad dal (1 cup) and rinse it properly twice
Drain water Soak in fresh water
Cover and let it rest overnight
Next day, drain the water and rinse properly twice
Grind to get a coarse paste
Add water and blend to get a smooth batter
Add salt and blend to get a smooth batter
Keep aside the urad dal batter

In a vessel, add idli rava (2 cups)
Rinse it properly twice
Drain water
Soak in fresh water
Cover and let it rest overnight
Next day, drain the water and rinse properly twice

In a vessel, transfer the urad dal batter
Squeeze water completely from soaked rava idli and add it to the urad dal batter
Mix well Cover and keep it aside for 12 hours
After 12 hours, the idli batter is ready

Bring water to boil in a steamer
Grease the idli plates with oil
Pour the batter into the molds
Place the idli plates into the steamer and cover it
Cook for 20 minutes in medium flame
Remove the idli plates form the steamer once cooked
Let idli cool for 2 to 3 minutes
Loosen the idli from the mold with a spoon
Transfer into a plate and serve them hot
Idli is ready
