Over the last few days the keepers have been lucky enough to witness the courtship display of our Lesser Flamingos. As breeding season approaches, male flamingos will group together and perform a special courtship display or 'dance'. They use specific movements of their necks & heads and walk together in unison to attract attention, as well as using lots of vocal calls.
Flamingos are extremely nervous birds so it is usually very difficult to get close enough to film them. This week however the birds were distracted by their display so the keepers were able to sneak in to the enclosure and take a few clips!
