Here's how Scientists predict the collosion of asteroid before it hits.
Detecting Asteroids can be done by taking images for several minutes apart,
of the same region of the sky.
The vast majority of the objects appearing in these images are stars and
galaxies,
and their positions are fixed in the same relative position on all the images.
Only a moving near-Earth object would be in a slightly different position on
each image.
This is how they predict the approximate positions over the next few days, and then alert us.
But this technique is still accurate for very small asteroids too?
