So let's try to identify the differences and characteristics of each species. Let's start with the raven. As a protected species, and with a very limited number, it should represent a smaller part of the feathered group we analyzed. The raven does not recognize gray - all over its body, the feathers are black and shiny. The last feature that should help us consider the analyzed animal as a raven is the tail, with feathers forming a characteristic wedge. By contrast, the American crow has a tail of equal length. The crow itself is smaller than the raven. The crow caws, and the raven croaks. In order to conclusively state that a given bird is a rook, it is best to take a close look at its beak.
