National Comic Book Day:
National Comic Book Day soars into a community near you this September 25. The genre has grown to include full-length books, or graphic novels, and inspire countless movie adaptations. While they were first typically humorous in nature, it didn’t take long for authors to apply the comic style to all genres of storytelling.
National Cooking Day:
It can be easy to get in a rut of constantly ordering takeout, heating-up frozen meals, or settling for a dinner of apples and cheese. But if you want to feel truly nourished, nothing beats a home-cooked meal. It’s nice to slow down and enjoy the process of preparing your own food — and the joy of eating it! That’s why we’re celebrating National Cooking Day on September 25. National Cooking Day encourages and inspires each of us to discover something new and enjoyable in the kitchen. It’s a time to learn a knew skill by preparing something delicious for loved ones — and ourselves. So put on your aprons and let’s get cooking!
National Daughters Day:
National Daughters Day on September 25 is a day to celebrate and cherish our daughters who bring so much love and into our lives. Although we don’t really need a reason to celebrate our children, it’s nice to be given the opportunity to pay our daughters some extra attention and show them how much they are loved.
National Lobster Day:
Now considered a fine delicacy throughout most of the world, the crowd-pleasing crustacean has seen darker days. Pacific Standard Magazine writes of a time when “consumers could buy Boston baked beans for 53 cents a pound, canned lobster sold for just 11 cents a pound.” In a time when Maritime New England was practically covered in lobsters, they were a food relegated to prison feed. Lobsters have had quite a journey as a food item. Because rags-to-riches stories are always worth celebrating, on September 25, we observe National Lobster Day!
National Psychotherapy Day:
National Psychotherapy Day is observed every year on September 25. Mental illness was always disregarded and not considered a real health problem. Over the years, people have started acknowledging that for overall well-being, your physical- as well as mental health needs to be in good condition.
National Public Lands Day:
Like the song says, “This land is your land/this land is my land/from California/ to the New York island.” Now, you can honor it all on National Public Lands Day, held on the fourth Saturday in September. This year’s events fall on September 25 when outdoor freaks and geeks come out to participate in planting trees, removing trash, and observing wildlife.
National Seat Check Saturday:
National Seat Check Saturday is observed on the fourth Saturday in September every year, falling on September 25 this year. This day was started by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the U.S. to promote child safety and increase awareness about seat check protocols in child safety seats when traveling.
